Roxburgh Rise Primary School provides a comprehensive Physical Education program that aims to promote lifelong participation in physical activity.
Students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to enable them to actively and successfully participate in a wide range of physical activities and sports with their peers.
Our Physical Education teachers are dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere, ensuring that every student, regardless of their skill level, feels supported, motivated and able to achieve a measure of success.
Our sports facilities, including an indoor gymnasium, all weather synthetic basketball courts, soccer and football fields and athletics track support a comprehensive and engaging program.
All students participate in a weekly one hour Physical Education lesson. The grade 3-6 cohorts also participate in an extra hour of grade sport with a focus on competitive games.
Our Grade 6 students are also given the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of interschool sports opportunities, including Summer sports competition, Winter Sports Gala Day, Cross Country, Athletics and Hot Shots Tennis.
We implement a range of government funded ‘Sporting Schools’ programs which focus on skill development and linking students to our local sports clubs.
Students also participate in a Learn to Swim program beginning in their Foundation year and continuing through to Grade 5.
