I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Roxburgh Rise Primary School, a government school 20kms north of the city of Melbourne, within the well-established suburb of Roxburgh Park. Our school has provided outstanding education for local children since it was established in 2005, and it is my great privilege to be serving as the principal.
The school’s vision ‘To provide all students with opportunities to become successful life-long learners’ is underpinned by the Department of Education’s Vision “A great education for every child and young person – so they can thrive now, and in the future, for a fairer, smarter, and more prosperous state.”
Roxburgh Rise Primary schools’ values of Respect, Inclusiveness, Support and Excellence (RISE), are at the centre of all the work within the school learning community, ensuring a safe, orderly, and inclusive environment for all students. The passionate and professional staff work in collaborative teams to build a learning environment that ensures all students are challenged to achieve their best in all that they do. Roxburgh Rise Primary School is not just a school committed to achieving high academic standards, it is also a school that prepares students to be curious, critical, and creative thinkers and problem solvers and this is underpinned by our school motto ‘Learning for Life’.
Learning for Life means we have a clear focus on catering for a wide range of students at their point of need, and their personal interests. We are a proud and diverse community, with a large proportion our students having a language background other than English. The range of specialist programs we provide include Visual Arts, Music, STEM, Physical Education, and Italian.
We strongly value our home-school partnerships, believing that by working together we can achieve successful outcomes for all our students, and I am extremely proud of the community spirit that exists here. We have an active Community Hub which offers a range of opportunities for members of our community to connect, build positive relationships and support the schools’ efforts in providing an excellent education for all.
Being a principal is a great honour, and I look forward to meeting and welcoming you to the school that I am very proud of. Please make contact if you would like to learn a little more about our school or to organise a personal school tour.
