Music

At Roxburgh Rise Primary School, we run a fun and engaging music program, where students are able to participate in a 60-minute weekly lesson. These sessions incorporate a range of theory and hands-on activities within a positive and inclusive environment. Students have the opportunity to play several different instruments such as drums, recorder, keyboard and ukulele. Throughout the year, whole school assemblies are held, which gives students from Foundation to Grade 6, the chance to perform in front of peers, teachers and families. During these performances, students are able to show off a range of skills that they have learnt, whether it’s playing an instrument, singing or dancing. Roxburgh Rise Primary School also participates in different music events throughout the year such as ‘School of Rock’. Programs such as Junior and Senior Choir, Keyboard, Dance and Drumming are held during Recess and Lunch times, giving students who are interested, the opportunity to develop further skills in these areas.
